Welcome to Wynberg Girls’ Junior School

Welcome to the Wynberg Girls’ Junior site and thank you for taking the time to learn more about our school and our young ladies.  As one of the oldest schools in Cape Town, we have many traditions and a long history of which we are very proud. This does not, however, mean that we are oblivious to new technologies and teaching methods! On the contrary, we pride ourselves on using technology in the classrooms to enhance the learning experience of our girls.

At Wynberg Girls’ Junior, we see sport and cultural activities as important aspects of each girl’s experiences at school. We have recently laid a mini astrofield in our quad, and our girls practise their hockey, netball and ball skills on this superior surface.  The Wynberg Campus of Schools, of which we are a proud member, is also busy laying the second full sized astrofield.  We are  in the process of creating an Aquatic Centre, and fully enclosing our 25m pool.  This will make it a true four seasons training pool, and allow our girls pool time all year round.

Our music department is a strong and dynamic one, with a junior and senior choir, marimba bands, vocal ensemble as well as an orchestra. Both individual and group lessons are offered.
