Cell Phones

POSITION STATEMENT 

The policy of the school is to strongly advise families that valuables and cell phones are not brought to school. We recognise the need for learners and parents to be able to contact each other to change arrangements. With this in mind cell phones will be allowed at school. 

If a learner chooses to bring a cell phone to school, she does so entirely at her own risk, and the following will apply.

s      Cell phones handed in must be clearly labelled with the learner’s name

s      The cell phone is to be handed in to the class teacher at the beginning of the day.

s      The cell phone must be switched off (not be on silent).

s      All cell phones collected will be kept in a class box in the school safe.

s      The cell phone can only be obtained again at the end of the day.

The school will bear no responsibility for the loss/theft or damage of/to cell phones on the property.
