Emotional Intelligence

EQ WEEK

As part of our ongoing programme in Emotional Intelligence we launched our first ever EQ week.  This was an exciting week showcasing EQ work that is being done throughout the year. 

We had guest speakers who were able to present relevant topics to our parents and provide them with valuable information which will assist them with being more effective parents. Our drama department did EQ role playing to reinforce concepts to the learners and demonstrate their own understanding. We had book displays with appropriate books available for purchase.  We also had games demonstrated by various educators and learners and it was wonderful to see how creative they were.

Each grade put up a display and the standard was very high.  The art department showed how emotions are part of our artwork and the music department and computer department also did displays.

Throughout the year each grade has EQ notice boards outside their classrooms and these are regularly updated.  We also have a general notice board which is hosted by a different grade throughout the term. Our teachers are all fully trained and regular refresher courses are provided.

EQ is a very important part of WGJS!
