Grade 2
Grade 2 is a wonderful year for building on to the foundations taught in Grade 1. Our girls are able to apply their knowledge and many of them reach new great heights. Their reading becomes more fluent, their mathematical concepts are understood and applied and their sentence construction and work presentation improve. All this is evidence that growth and development are being achieved.
We as Grade 2 teachers strive to encourage good manners, self-discipline, self-motivation, perseverance and above all turning our young girls into members of our “Gracious Society”. We are “Educating to expect excellence” not only from ourselves as teachers, but also from our girls. Being an Emotionally Intelligent school, we often discuss the importance of our feelings, values and relationships with others, and celebrate personal talents and gifts.
The girls have a happy year in Grade 2 and some of their favourites are going to Art, Ballskills, Computers, Swimming, PDP, Library and of course our outings to interesting places, one being Rosen Castle.
By the end of Grade 2 we hope that our girls are able to organise themselves efficiently and become more independent.
